For anyone with tween or teen students looking to learn more about Latinx/Hispanic history, look no further! I am excited to announce that I have the opportunity to partner with Pawling Library, located in Pawling, NY, to bring you two FREE virtual classes.

Zoot Suit Riots Class

The first class will be about the Zoot Suit Riots, and will be Monday, November 15, from 4:30-5:15 Eastern Time. In this class, students will learn about the Sleepy Lagoon Murder Trial and the Zoot Suit Riots, a series of conflicts in Los Angeles, California during World War II. The class will feature several interactive activities, including videos and culminating with a fun Kahoot quiz!

Latinx History Explorers: Lin-Manuel Miranda

The second class will be focused on the talented Lin-Manuel Miranda. This session will be on Monday, November 22, from 4:30-5:15 Eastern Time. This is the perfect class for fans of Hamilton, In the Heights, Moana, Tick, Tick… Boom, and Disney’s upcoming film Encanto! We will discuss his achievements, impact on pop culture, philanthropy, and influence in the Latinx community.

I look forward to meeting your child for these classes. Space is limited, so please act fast!
