¡Hola! I’m Sara and thanks for checking out my blog. I’ve been a nerdy Latina for as long as I can remember and my mission is to inform and teach others the importance of knowing Hispanic / Latinx history and current events affecting us. I also showcase what is happening in terms of pop culture so you may see podcasts, movies, adult television, and children’s books/television recommendations from me.
I am currently working at Renaissance Learning as a part-time consultant. I also teach virtual classes via Outschool and Zoom on a variety of subjects for ages 3-18: Hispanic & Latina/e/o/x history, Spanish immersion, and social studies. I also am a freelance writer, have a Teachers Pay Teachers store, and wrote a book on Japanese animation. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master’s Degree in Education from National University.
As a mamá of Mexican heritage to two bicultural girls, my goal is to raise them in a diverse and supportive environment. For years, I have been passionate about Hispanic / Latinx representation and I am thrilled to be able to teach students about some of my idols, such as Frida Kahlo and Selena Quintanilla-Perez. I am extremely thankful for having such supportive and loving grandparents from both sides and also for my equally nerdy yet amazing husband, Daniel, for pushing me to start this new career change in early 2021.
If you have any questions, comments, or would like to collaborate with me, contact me using one of the options below and I’ll be happy to get back to you as soon as possible!
